Pair of estate cottages. c.1840. Coursed and banded limestone
rubble, ashlar quoins and dressings, Collyweston slate roofs with
gable ball pinnacles. Large central ridge stack, with plinth and
dentillated cornice. 2 storey, 4 bay front, the central first
floor bays beneath a common gable. 2 off centre planked doors
with wrought iron Gothic furniture, in plain chamfered surrounds
and covered by tall steeply gabled porches with curved wooden
braces supported on brackets which spring from sloping stone
coped side walls. In the centre are 2 three light windows. To
the first floor are 2 two light windows. All windows have
chamfered ashlar surrounds and mullions. In the gable a square
recessed panel in a chamfered surround with terracotta plaque
bearing the arms of the Earl of Lindsey.
