Farmhouse. Mid C17 with C20 alterations. Squared rubble, millstone grit dressings,
stone slate roof. Lobby entry. 3 storeys, 4 bays. Entrance left of centre has
chamfered surround, segmental pointed head; c1980 door. Left-hand ground floor
3-light double chamfered cavetto mullioned window; hoodmould. Right of centre 4-
light double chamfered cavetto, mullioned fixed lights and similar right-hand 3-
light window. First floor windows are all double chamfered cavetto mullioned with
hoodmoulds: 3-light, blocked 2-light and two 3-light. Second floor windows are
similar, but without hoodmoulds: three 3-lights. Casements and fixed lights.
Gable end ridge and left of centre ridge stacks, left-hand gable stack projects
on 3 moulded corbels at eaves level. Right-hand gable end stack is similar but
with 2 corbels. Interior: inglenook has chamfered surround, basket arched head,
10 voussoirs, salt or spice cupboard, now missing door, and remains of beehive oven.
2 entrances to right-hand parlour have chamfered surrounds. 2 stone corbels to
spine beams. Stone newel staircase. First floor bedroom contains C17 fireplace
with segmental pointed arch and chamfered surround. Curved Queen strut roof trusses
Rubble garden wall is butt-jointed to house facade and incorporates C17 chamfered
entrance with segmental pointed arch.
