GV II

House, c1710 with earlier wing to right and later infill to rear.
Magnesian limestone ashlar with Welsh slate roof. L-shaped on plan. Cl8
range of 2½. storeys and 5 bays built onto gable end of probable C17 house of
2 low storeys and one bay. Plinth. Quoining to ends. Entrance: a C20
glazed door in ashlar surround to third bay. Sashes with glazing bars
throughout in ashlar surrounds with chamfered cills, some recut. First
floor moulded ashlar band to C18 range. Roof dormers with Yorkshire sashes
with glazing bars. Ashlar coping and kneelers to gable-ended range. Hipped
roof to C18 range. End and ridge stacks. Further entrance to rear: 2 steps
to 6-panel door under oblong fanlight with radial glazing bars in pilastered
doorcase with acanthus consoles supporting broken pediment. Interior:
covered beamed ceiling and some moulded cornices; marble rococo fireplace to
left room; Cl8 open-well staircase with turned balusters; several 6-panelled
doors in recessed panelled surrounds.
