Entrance lodge, gates, piers and walls. c1840. By Decimus Burton for Lord
Londesborough. Magnesian limestone ashlar, concealed roof to lodge,
wrought-iron gates. Lodge: single storey, 3 bays with central breakforward.
Quoins. Plinth. Entrance to gable a 4-panel, part-glazed door under hood.
Canted bay window with multi-paned casements, otherwise 12-pane sashes with
aprons in ashlar surrounds. Moulded cornice. Low parapet. Centre stacks.
Piers square on plan with recessed panels, dentil frieze and moulded cornice
surmounted by ball finials and flags. Double gates with pedestrian gates
with decorative ironwork and ornamental overthrow. Walls adjoining are
curved on plan with plinth, cornice and frieze terminating in square piers
with cornice and ball finials.
