Public house. Mid C18 with early C19 alterations. Painted, rendered brick
to front, on stone plinth; rubble stone to rear; pantile roof; brick stacks.
Originally 2-cell, gable entry plan, with later service extension to rear.
2-storey, 3-window front. Present entry, replacing original, blocked, gable
entry, is a 6-panel door beneath a flat-topped wooden porch on iron
brackets. C20 fixed light windows with louvred shutters and stone sills
throughout. Cogged eaves course. End stacks to steeply-pitched roof.
Interior: exposed chamfered beams throughout. Fireplace in bar to right has
a chamfered, stopped bressumer and fireplace of flat timber lintel on
corbelled out stone jambs over a round-arched brick hearth. The heck
survives together with spice and salt cupboard openings oil either side of
the hearth.
