II
Farmhouse. Early C18, with C19 alteration and extension; further extension
late C19. Pink-red brick and red brick; pantile roof. Originally L-shaped
on plan with early C19 extension to left and late C19 extension to rear.
Garden front: 2-storey, 2-window front with cross gable to right and low 2-
storey range to left. Central panelled door with shaped centre light and
overlight beneath C20 gabled trellis porch. Canted bay with 4-pane sash and
tented roof to left and 4-pane sash with keyed flat arch to right. Similar
windows with thin timber lintels to first-floor left and to cross gable.
Painted stone sills to all windows. Coped gable and shaped kneeler to
gable. End left stack. Low range to left has catslide roof and centre
stack. Right return: 2 storeys and 2 windows. 4-pane sashes with keyed
flat arches and painted stone sills throughout. Stepped brick eaves course.
Paired centre stacks. Rear: 2-light, small-pane horizontal sliding sashes
with painted stone sills throughout. Segmental arches to ground-floor
openings. Stepped and dentilled eaves course. Interior. Ground floor:
room to left - C17 carved panelling has been reused round the window bay and
the fireplace; room to right - 2 fireplace alcoves with keyed round-arched
architraves and moulded shelves; also panelled shutter boxes housing hung
shutters. First floor: room to left - C17 carved and panelled door beneath
the stairs to the attic.
