SE 87 SE THORPE BASSETT VILLAGE STREET

4/110 Lilac Tree House

GV II
House. Mid C18 with early C19 alteration and extension; further alteration
in late C19 and C20. Rendered and colour-washed brick with pantile roof and
rendered stacks. Central-stairhall plan, 1 room deep; rear extension added.
2-storey, 3-window front. Central C20 door beneath divided overlight. 4-
pane sashes with painted stone sills throughout. All openings have
keyblocks. Raised first-floor band. Dentilled eaves. Coped gables and
shaped kneelers. End stacks. Interior: open-string, open-well staircase
rises through first floor to attic. The balusters have been encased to
preserve them, but the handrail is moulded and wreathed, and ramped up to
each landing and half-landing; elaborate foliage-carved treadends. Hall has
dentilled coving. Hall doors of 6 raised and fielded panels.
