House. Dated 1625 with C19 additions, restored after 1972. Coursed squared
gritstone, graduated stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays with rear outshut,
plus later bay to left. 3 storeyed porch bay 1. Board door to porch in
chamfered quoined surround, shallow triangular-headed arch, lintel inscribed
"RA:1625", hoodmould. Recessed chamfered mullion windows throughout:
2 small single-light windows to porch, a hoodmould over the lower window and
a moulded stone projection set in round-arched recess between them. Bays 2
and 3: 6- and 4-light windows to ground floor, the larger with central king
mullion; 5- and 4-light windows above. Continuous dripmould over ground-
floor windows. Bulbous kneelers, gable copings to house and porch, massive
end external stacks. C19 bay to left also with mullioned windows.
Interior: not inspected at resurvey but recorded before restoration; 2
arcade posts between house and rear outshut, together with traces of stud
partition walls. The 2 main living rooms have original arched fireplaces
and each end of a massive chamfered spine beam rests above them. North
