House with shop. C18 and early C19, 2 builds, the second being
part of a former separate cottage to north-west. Older part red
brick in English garden wall bond 5 and 1 or 4 and 1, with pantiled
roof, stone copings, tile ridge, brick stack. Newer part (on left
return) coursed tooled sandstone; pantiled roof, stone coping,
kneeler and stack.
Old part 2 storeys, 2 bays. 5 renewed steps to boarded door at
right. Small 30-pane bow window on bowed masonry at left. Small-
paned modern casement under flat gauged brick arch above. Small
blank lean-to at right. Gable end to road with ridge chimney.
Left return 3 bays, the 2 right bays being the brick building: 3
steps to half-glazed door under flat gauged brick arch at left.
Replaced 16-pane sash in wood architrave under stone lintel at
right. 2-light modern casement with glazing bars above. Stepped
and corbelled brick cornice. In left (stone) bay 16-pane sashes in
wood architraves with stone cills. Said to have date 1745 on
bedroom door hinge.
