Late C18 "polite" refronting of C17 farmhouse. Two-storeys, sandstone "brick"
with ashlar dressings. Three bay symmetrical front. Plinth, frieze and shallow
coved cornice with blocking course. Stone slate roof with corniced chimneys.
Flanking bays have tripartite square mullion windows with renewed glazing bar
sashes. Central first floor window is round-headed and has squared surround
with eared base and entablature impost moulding and keystone inscribed: G N 1783.
The main cornice and blocking course break forward slightly above this window.
The central doorway has a semi-circular fanlight with similar detailing to
surround. Late C19 narrow gabled extention to left hand. The rear elevation
retains a slight chamfered mullion window in deep splayed reveal. Central late
C18 round-headed stairlight with intersecting glazing bars.
