No 38 probably mid C18, the rest of cottage row an extension to rebuild of former farmhouse circa 1800. No 38 is of coursed gritstone with flush quoins, saddlestones and kneelers to gables of stone slate roof. Two- and three-light square mullion windows in squared surrounds. Squared jamb doorway. The other cottages are of sandstone "brick", No 44 slightly taller. Stone slate roofs with corniced chimneys. Single and two-light square mullion windows in squared surrounds. Sill band to No 44. Squared jamb doorways.
