east of Lad Stones
G.V. II
Originally a pair of cottages. Early C18. Hammer-dressed stone, stone slate
roof. 2 storeys. 3-bay symmetrical facade. Segmental arched entry to doorways
set within a portal. To either side chamfered mullioned windows of 4 lights to
each floor with one of 3 lights over arch. 2 stacks to ridge. Rear back-to-
earth has 1st floor door entry and 3 chamfered mullioned windows of 2 lights.
A very unusual building more like a converted barn but apparently originally
designed as 2 cottages.
