Large mid C19 Gothic building on hillside above Highdale Hill. 2 storey ashlar
front with gabled range coming forward on right and a second gabled range set
back slightly to left of porch. 3 storey extension to left of front. Cornices
and parapets, some gargoyles. Tall chimney stack to right. Carved finials to
gable ends. 5-light splayed bay through both storeys to right. Cornice with
grotesques and crenellated parapet. Stone mullions and transoms to cusped lights.
Shields in quatrefoils between storeys. Other windows are mostly of 3-lights
with pointed heads and stone mullions. Rectangular dripmoulds to ground floor.
2 storey porch in centre has diagonal buttresses and pointed doorway under rectangular
dripmould with carved spandrels. 2-storey canted bay in extension to left.

No 5, the White House, Nos 11 to 15 (odd), Woodspring District Offices, and
Christ Church Chapel Hill form a group
