Public house. Front block with circular plaque: "SW 1798", added to gable end
of earlier, probably C17, rear wing. Colour washed rough cast over timber
frame. Clay tile roofs, that to rear block hipped. Forms large rectangular
block overall, of 2 storeys. Front elevation: 2 3-light casements to both
floors, all C20. Central doorway has 6-panel door in moulded surround, with
open pediment on consoles. Red brick integral stack to gable end. S
elevation: 2 rectangular projecting bays with hipped roofs and variety of
casements, all with leaded lights. Doorway similar to that to front. Various
single storey additions to N and E elevations.
