- Tyrrells End Farmhouse
GV II*
House. Probably C15, with later reworkings. Timber framed structure, with
very close studding to LH end. Colourwashed plaster infill to most parts
except for some red brick infill to RH gable end. Part of RH bay rebuilt in
brick with colourwashed render. Clay tile roof. 4-room plan. 2 storeys.
Ground floor has 2 3-light casements with leaded lights and one 2-light
casement with glazing bars. First floor has 3 original diamond mullion
windows (now glazed), one 3-light leaded casement, and one 2-light casement
with glazing bars. 4-panel door to LH, 6-panel door to RH, both C18. Both
have simply moulded architraves. LH gable end retains slightly projecting
(almost oriel) window to ground floor, of 4 lights, with diamond mullions and
decorative moulded cornice. Also 5-light mullioned window to ground floor,
and leaded casement to first floor. 2 red brick ridge stacks, LH one rebuilt.
