of Roads Lodge)

Entrance lodge belonging to Woburn Abbey. 1810-12 for John 6th Duke of
Bedford. Stucco. Slate roof. Small single-storeyed rectangular building.
Nil elevation: central projecting pedimented bay, with tripartite sash window
with glazing bars. Flanking the pedimented block are open porches within
angles, their simply moulded entablatures continuing that of the central bay.
Tuscan columns and pilasters, 2 of each to each porch. Each porch shelters
doorway onto central pedimented block. Part-glazed panelled doors.
Stuccoed multiple ridge stack.
