House and attached outbuilding. Probably C17 origins extended in C18 and in 1891 by
Roger Mutton (datestone). Stone rubble with high quality laced masonry in the right
hand gable end and right hand side of rear wall of earlier domestic range. Partly
rendered on front. Slate roof with gable ends. Stone rubble end stacks with moulded
strings.
Plan: The house has been altered and extended. The circa C17 central range is
either part of a larger house which was demolished in the circa C18, or alternatively
was originally of one-room plan heated by an end stack. The left hand room was
probably added in the C18 forming a 2-room and cross passage plan house. The eaves
appear to have been raised shortly after this extension. In 1891 a small outbuilding
was added on the right hand end.
Exterior: Two storeys. Asymmetrical 3-window front. C20 porch near centre flanked
by C20 window to left and 2-light casement to right. First floor has C20 window to
left and 2-light casements in centre and to right. Attached on right hand end a 2-
storey outbuilding with door to left and window to right with loft door on first
floor. Datestone RM 1891.
Interior: Hollow chamfered granite lintel to fireplace in left hand room; the lintel
appears to have been reset. The right hand room has a fireplace with ashlar stone
jambs but wih a renewed timber lintel. C19 and C20 floor joists.
