Treslothan Old Farm

Farmhouse, now house. Probably c.1845, by George Wightwick of Plymouth
for the Pendarves estate. Uncoursed granite rubble with granite quoins and
dressings, slate roof. Double-pile plan under 2-span roof. Simplified Tudor
style. Two storeys; plinth; north facade of 2 gabled bays, the second set
back slightly, has 2 large square windows at ground floor, with chamfered
surrounds and wooden mullions and transoms making 6 lights with diamond
leaded glazing, 2-light windows above, and gable copings with kneelers;
east (left) side wall has large full-height single-storey gabled porch with
central door flanked by single-light windows with similar glazing. Rear and
interior not inspected. History: probably part of the rebuilding of
Treslothan as a model village by E.W.W.Pendarves 1840-45, though detached
from it by about a ΒΌ-mile.
