War Memorial. 1920's. White granite ashlar. Mounted in the centre of a
very wide raked octagonal deck. Base of 5 octagonal steps, octagonal
plinth, tall rectangular shaft to shaped cross; the plinth has a large raised
rectangular panel in each cardinal side, each with inlaid metal lettering,
that on the east side as follows:-
TO THE GLORY OF GOD
AND IN HONOURED MEMORY
OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH
WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES
IN THE GREAT WAR
1914-1919
LEST WE FORGET
and the others each with 7 names. The foot of the shaft has added
lettering relating to the war 1939-1945, with 24 names round its base.
