Public house and restaurant. C16, extended C19. C16 part is
timber-framed with whitewashed brick infill to front. Old tile roof,
central chimney with grouped shafts of red and vitreous brick. 2 storeys,
the upper floor jettied to front on beam ends. 2 bays of C20 2 and 3-
light leaved casements, those to ground floor having C20 wooden boards
with carved scroll ornament above. Central lobby entry with board
door, another board door to right. C19 extension to left is of whitewashed
brick, rendered to street, with old tile roof and central brick chimney.
2 storeys, one bay, with board door to front and C20 leaded casements to
gable. Other extensions to rear. Interior shows large curved tension
braces and wind-braces. Left bay has chamfered spine beam and plain heavy
joists, right bay has moulded spine beam and stop-chamfered joists.
Fireplace in upper left room with chamfered stone jambs.
