In memory of John Stooke and Mary his Wife 1697 ALL GLORY TO GOD They have given for the celebration of ye Holy Eucharist 4 Sundays in this pish 7, in ye pish of Bovey tracy 3 Sudays 5, in ye pish of Bridford 2 Sundays 2 & 10s p anum forever. Also 3 p anum for 4 loaves per week for 4 poor psons of this pish and 2 to buy wheat at Christmas, the one moiety to 8 poor psons of this parish, the other to 8 poor persons of Aishton for ever Also 3 to the poor of each of the almshouses of Xtow and Aishton and to the rector of Trusham 5 p an issuing ouf of Smithshays in Xtow, the remainder to the vicar thereof. Also 2.12s p an for ever for 4 loaves per week to 4 poor persons in the almshouse of Hennock. They have also erected an almshouse in this pish and endowed it with the tenement of Merdon in Christow, value 12 p an. For all which donations the deeds are in the box adjoining Let your light SO SHINE
