Barn and stables adjacent. C16 barn, W stable range has '1857'
on stone plaque. Timber frame barn on brick sill, weatherboarded
with steep old red tile roof half-hipped at each end. Diapered
red brick low ranges enclosing yard on S with slate roofs.
Slated weatherboarded lean-to sheds against S wall of barn
symmetrical about gabled central porch. A tall 5-bay single-
aisled barn facing S. Heavy jowled posts with long slightly
curved braces to arcade-plate and cambered tie-beams. Clasped-
purlin roof with heavy queen-struts and no collars. Face-halved
bladed scarf in arcade plate. Aisle tie-beams and peninsular
brick sills and sill-plates supporting aisle posts. Wall rails
tennoned in line. Brick stable ranges have doors facing onto the
yard enclosed.
