Farmhouse, now house Probably early C17 with later additions and alterations.
Timber framed on high red brick plinth with plastered infill, machine tile
roofs. T-plan; hall of 2 1/2 bays with cross-wing (to road front) of 2 bays.
2 storeys with gable-lit attic to cross-wing. Framing: square panels, 3
from raised cill to wall-plate, moulded hewn jettying (to cross-wing) on
first floor of left-hand gable end with evidence of continuation to front
and right-hand gable end; vertical struts to left-hand gable end with
inclined struts from upper collar; the right-hand gable end is brick-clad
and the hall roughcast. 2-window front to cross-wing, tripartite glazing
bar sashes to left and right of central 6-panel door (upper panels now
glazed) with bracketed hood; prominent cruciform ridge stack re-built
c.1980 to right of hall range and C20 brick end stack to right-hand wall
of cross-wing. Interior: timber frame intact with chamfered spine and
cross beams throughout; 2 large fireplaces on ground floor, one with massive
Grinshill stone lintel; C17 oak door in kitchen (back end of former hall)
with iron strap hinges.
