House. Circa 1600, raised and altered early C20. Whitewashed render over
granite; slate roof with ornamental ridge tiles; brick chimneys. Now 3 storeys,
originally only 2. 2 main bays. Ground and first floors have C20 3-light leaded
windows to left and irregular single lights to right. 3 C20 3-light horizontal
sliding sashes to second floor. All windows have C20 ornamental shutters. C20
door to right of centre. Right gable has similar windows, one in blocked door-
way. Left gable has traces of blocked ground floor window. Single storey brick
wing to rear. Interior: large central stack with winder stair in line; deeply
chamfered spine beam with simple stops in left bay; ovolo-moulded spine beams
and some stop-chamfered joists in right bay; stop-chamfered spine beams in first
floor rooms. Formerly known as Bailie's House.
