Reclining female figure, the mourning wife of Rev John Dixie d.1719. Alabaster with modern Latin inscription. Easy to read where you can see it, but cracked and spalling. In a Rococo surround, but Pevsner, via Gunnis, says it used to be in a Gothick setting. The text mentions Beaumont Dixie and William Willoughby of Willoughby, a wife Anne, daughter of Richard Worth, another Wife, Elizabeth. (Photo May 2008).
