Gate piers and Gates

Lodge house railing gate piers and gates, C1850. Ashlar throughout,
with iron gates. Lodge house is in picturesque Jacobethan style, a
single celled building with sloped gable with finials and in the gable
wall, a mullioned and transomed window with 2-light mullioned window
above. Side elevation contains doorway in 4-centred arch with cornet
above, 2 mullioned and transomed windows and a slightly projecting gabled
dormer with coping, finials and mullioned window. The park wall terminates
in ornate moulded stone piers, and on each side a section of iron railing
links to the principal gate piers, with plain moulded heads and small
side shafts terminating in consoles. On the piers, scrolls, shield
of arms, coronets and capping finial in stone gates and railings wrought
with trefoils and spearheads.
