House. Late C18, extended in C19 and C20. Timber framed, weatherboarded and
plastered, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 3 bays facing SW, with central
stack, forming a lobby-entrance. C18/C19 single-storey lean-to extension to
rear of left end forming a catslide, with C20 external stack to rear. Late C19
2-storey extension to rear of right end, forming a short parallel range. C20
flat-roofed 2-storey rear extension between these 2 extensions. 2 storeys.
2-window range of C20 sashes. C18/C19 plain boarded door at front of central
gabled porch. Front elevation and left return weather-boarded, remainder
plastered. 2 large wood-burning hearths. Tranverse beams, joists plastered to
the soffits. Formerly called Black Cottage, not contemporary with a mill.
