House. C18, altered in C19 and C20. Timber framed, plastered with some painted
brick, roofed with slate. Short main range facing NE, with stack behind axis, 2
storeys. 3-storey crosswing to right with stack in right return. 2-storey
stair or closet tower to rear of the junction, and small C20 2-storey extension
to left of it, with flat roof. C20 single-storey extension with flat roof to
rear of crosswing. Ground floor, one late C19 splayed bay of sashes of 2-4-2
lights. First floor, 2 early C19 sashes of 16 lights, the window in the
crosswing slightly higher than that in the main range. Second floor, one
similar sash. Fielded 6-panel door and plain overlight, in wider architrave
with moulded flat canopy; dentilled band above door; 2 stone steps. In main
range, plain band above first-floor window, and plain parapet. The crosswing
has a low-pitched roof with C19 bargeboards fretted to a geometrical design.
Right return faced with painted brick to a height of 1 1/2 storeys. Softwood
studding, primary straight bracing. External plaster renewed May 1987.
