Small semi-detached cottage and adjacent butcher's shop. Cottage
probably late C17, shop C18. Rubble stone, stone slate roof, stone
end stack to right on cottage, brick end stack with projecting
semi-circular bread oven to shop. Cottage of single front range
and later rear extension, single storey and attic. Projecting
gable to left with 3-light wood casement and stone lintel. Raking
canopy on ground floor over 3-light casement and plank door. On
right-hand side, flat roofed 3-light casement dormer through eaves
with moulded wood cornice, similar below with timber lintel and
door in angle to left. Cottage once formed part of Eliot Arms Inn
(q.v.), adjoining to left; shop, single storey with large C20 shop
window, is known to have existed as such on this site since early
C19.
