Pair of adjoining barns

Pair of adjoining barns with integral stable. Late C18 and early-
mid Cl9. C18 barn: limestone rubble. C19 barn: coursed squared
and dressed limestone; C19 barn, limestone rubble; stone slate
roofing to both parts, corrugated iron roofing to the C19 open-
fronted store at the south gable end. Long rectangular plan with
C18 barn with gable end to A40 with C19 barn with integral stable
and open-fronted store on the south. North-west front: double
plank doors off-centre left to C18 barn, similar doorway opposite,
ventilation slits. C19 barn: plank doorway off-centre right set
within the blocking of a small segmental-headed double doorway;
single-light window to left; segmental-headed pitching window
above. South-east front: double plank doorway off-centre left
with concrete lintel; plank door to right; pitching door upper
right. Four-bay open-fronted rstore to left with 3 open bays
divided by timber uprights on pyramidal padstones. Single-bay
extension with doorway to left. Flat coping to gable end of C18
barn. Interior divided into two barns with stable incorporated
within the C19 part. The late C18 barn is of 3 bays divided by
trusses with a tie beam and raking struts; two king post roof
truses to the stable; remainder of the C19 range has tie beams
with raking struts and a collar beam.
