Farmhouse. Core probably of C15, enlarged to west and south in
C16, partially remodelled 1794. Core timber-framed with 2 large
pairs of true crucks, faced in brick with triple Roman tiles.
Main connecting range in random coursed rubble stone to east but
brick faced to south and west, slate roof, brick end and ridge
stacks. South wing also in brick with very large stepped ashlar
external stack with moulded cornice. U-shape, 2 storeys with attic
to long centre range. Scattered fenestration, mostly C19 and C20
casements. Nearly central gabled dormer has 2 small 4-pane
casements. Chamfered stone doorway to right below with C20
vertical battened door and flat stone hood on consoles. West side
has mainly 3-light wood casements probably of 1794 and plain
unfluted columned porch, door of 4 beaded panels and one wide
glazed panel at top.
Interior has large timber bressumer fireplace in north of main
range with C20 partial insertion, and chamfered and stopped
compartmented ceilings in same range. Wreathed and ramped turned
baluster stair in hall. Large external stack has chamfered stone
fireplace of C16 on ground floor.
