Hall house, now farmhouse. C15, C17, altered and extended C19. Part timber frame
encased in roughcast, part brick; old tile gabled roof. T-plan, with catslide roof
over outshut and gabled extension at rear. 4 framed bays in front section, middle 2
former hall. 2 storeys, and 2 storeys with attic. One chimney on ridge of extension
and one on left gable of older part. Road (north) front: irregular. Roughcast.
Two C20 3-light and one single-light casement on first floor. Two 2-light and one
lower 3-light casement on ground floor. C20, 4-panel entrance door in moulded door-
case, in hipped porch with brick piers. Rear (south) front: brick on flint plinth.
Recessed panels with dentil heads on first floor. Projecting string course carried
above ground-floor windows as hood mould; moulded brick cornice on gable. C20,
3-light casement windows on gable in moulded architraves, segmental pediment head
to first-floor window. Moulded brick mullion window on eastern return, now blocked.
Interior: some frame visible. Jowled posts. Middle roof truss has arched brackets
to tie, other 2 trusses have redundant crown posts, with clasped purlins.
