Wall with archway. Circa 1880 by G Devey. Brick with stone dressings and tiled coping.
60m wall continuing from end of cottage, 4m high, then ramping down to 3m, and at far
end ramping down to meet 1.5m plain wall giving view over park. 15m from cottage
archway of piers with set-back buttresses either side of arch made of thin bricks.
Over, modillioned cornice supporting row of nesting boxes with tiled roofs. Each side
of archway dressed stone segmental headed opening with Doric pillar in centre and
responds either side, and beyond these, square openings of dressed stone with 4-
centred heads. Wall itself has toothed cornice to wide coping of 3 courses of tiles
with ridge tile.
