Rear range of Hipswell Hall, now barn. C16, with later alterations. Rubble
with ashlar dressings, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 4 first-floor openings.
Plinth. Quoins. To left of centre, board doors in large chamfered quoined
doorway with concrete lintel. At right end, board door below concrete
lintel. To left, 3-light chamfered mullion window with hoodmould. In
centre, a similar window with the outer 2 lights blocked. To right, window
opening with concrete sill and lintel. First floor: to left of centre, a
board pitching door in chamfered quoined surround with concrete lintel. To
left, 2-light chamfered mullion window. To right, 2 C19 window openings.
Interior: large cross beams. The right-hand end is said to have been
rebuilt during World War II.
