Inn and former coach house and mounting block. Early C18 inn and mounting
block, coach house dated 1867. Roughcast rubble, stone slate roof. Screen
wall projecting from left of inn joins it to former coach house which is at
right angle. Main block: T-shaped plan, 2 storeys, 1:1:1 bays. Plinth.
Central 2-storey porch has C20 panelled door in chamfered ashlar surround
with cornice, and on first floor a 2-light casement window. Flanking bays
have 6-pane sash windows. Shaped kneelers, ashlar copings to porch and main
block. End stacks to main block. Rear elevation has sash windows in
chamfered surrounds, 1 with paired sashes and central flush mullion. Coach
house block: 2 storeys, 3 first-floor openings. Ground floor: 2-light
casement window with wedge lintel; former coach doorway with segmental arch
of rusticated voussoirs with dated keystone, opening infilled with C20 door
and windows. External stone steps up to first-floor doorway. First floor:
sash window with glazing bars and 4-pane casement window with wedge lintels;
4-panel door at top of steps. End stack left. To right of porch, mounting
block of 3 steps, continued into angle with main block, forming platform.
