2 houses. Late C18 - early C19. For the Duke of Northumberland. Ashlar
sandstone, pantile roof with stone slates at eaves. L-shaped plan, with
rear range to right, and rear outshut, 2 storeys, 3 bays. First and second
bays (The Homestead); with central door of 6 flush panels in raised ashlar
surround with splayed bases. Sash windows with glazing bars in raised
ashlar surrounds. Cornice. Shaped kneeler and ashlar coping to left, roof
hipped to right. Corniced brick stacks at left end and double stack between
second and third bays. Right return (Ashmoor): ashlar, 3 bays matching
front elevation. The Homestead, with door onto The Village, was used as an
estate office for the Duke of Northumberland.
