House. Probably late C17 to early C18 with mid-C20 and later extensions.
Sandstone rubble plinth and timber-frame with plaster and brick infill,
partly weatherboarded. Brick extensions. Half-hipped sandstone slate roof.
Sandstone rubble and brick stack. L-plan with arms to north-east and north-
west. Two storeys and attic. South-east elevation has 1:1 windows, mid-C20
casements of two lights with gabled front to right-hand side. Roof is half-
hipped above gable. Entry to left of gable via mid-C20 porch with contemporary
glazed door. Frame is four panels high from cill to wall-plate. Attached to
right-hand side is an early C20 brick lean-to with ledged door and 2-pane
window. North-west gable is weatherboarded. Attached to rear are two flat-
roofed two-storey late C20 extensions, one between the arms, the other behind
north-west lean-to. Interior noted as having heavy ceiling beams. (RCHM,
Vol III, p 99).
