House, cottage and attached wall with railings. Probably late C17 - early
C18, with later C18 and C19 alterations. Rubble with ashlar dressings,
stone slate roofs; wrought-iron railings. 3 storeys with cellar and attic,
3 bays, with rear wing to right and 2-storey bay added to right. Main
house: central 5-panel door below overlight in chamfered ashlar surround,
flanked by 16-pane sash windows with glazing bars in canted bays with flat
lead roofs. First and second floors: sash windows, smaller on second floor,
with ashlar lintels and projecting sills. Ashlar coping. Brick end stacks.
To right, C19 extension, with 6-pane window on ground floor, sash window on
first floor; ashlar coping and brick stack to right. Right return of rear
wing, the right-hand part of which forms Rectory Cottage: part-glazed door
to left and board door to right, both in chamfered quoined ashlar surrounds.
In front of house, low rubble wall with triangular coping supporting early-
mid C19 railings and central gate, with spiked bars and standards with urn
finials; wall ramped up on side returns to front garden. Interior, house:
doors of 2 fielded panels with L-hinges; stop-chamfered floor beams;
collared roof trusses. Said to have become the vicarage in 1908.
