House. Late C18-early C19 with C20 alterations. Painted ashlar, slate roof.
Central staircase plan. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Central entrance in Queen Anne Revival
porch c1910, Gibbs surround, round head and keystone with round headed hood on
scrolled wooden consoles; dentilled cornice and traceried fanlight. Original
entrance to house has Tuscan pilasters with chamfered arrises, base and capitals
and pediment over plain cornice; glazed door c1910. Projecting ground floor
of same build as porch with a 5-light window with wooden mullions and transoms
to left and right; dentilled cornice to lean-to hipped roof. Upper floor string
course. 3 upper floor windows have revealed sashes; external shutters - Quoins.
Cornice. Shaped kneelers and gable end coping. Gable end ridge stacks. Central
leaded cupola with weather vane. Projecting 2-storey bay added to left-hand
return c1910 with a later semi-octagonal conservatory against the gable and the
wing. Rear contains large central staircase window with plain surround and round
head with impost blocks, keystone and 2 transoms.
Interior: staircase has deep, probably C18 treads with later broadly spaced stick
balusters and wreathed handrail.
