Island wall running around Walton Hall including 2 boat houses, steps and landing stage to west

Island wall including 2 boathouses and landing stage. Mid-late C18. Rock-faced
stone with ashlar dressings. Curved walls in well-coursed masonry with regularly-
spaced projecting piers. Ashlar flat coping projects slightly. To the west,
semicircular landing stage at lower level approached by 5 well-dressed ashlar steps.
Boat houses to left of this have shallow arches with raised keystones and projecting
piers to either side. Inner chamber for boats. Roof suports sundial (q.v.).
