Cellar Hill House

House. Early C18 with late C18 and early C19 alterations. Thickly rendered,
right return coursed limestone rubble; pantiled roof. 2 storeys; 5 sash
windows with glazing bars under flat brick arches have projecting stone cills;
a round-headed window with intersecting glazing bars at first floor centre.
Central 6-panelled door in architrave under bracketed pediment. Double span
roof hipped at left; one transverse ridge chimney at left, 2 end chimneys
at right, all of yellow brick with red brick bands and dog-tooth cornice.
Moulded kneelers at gables. Interior window shutters and 8-panelled doors
with architraves. Elliptical-headed arch in hall has fluted Tuscan pilasters,
keyed architrave, deep panelled reveal and soffit. Staircase has cut string,
2 C19 square balusters per tread, ramped almost flat handrail and square newel.
Upper rear stair removed. One 2-panelled door with original hinges on first
floor.
