Gate piers, resited c.1857 from terrace to south of Esh Hall, where they flanked
steps to house. C17. Sandstone ashlar with some concrete patching. 2 tall
square corniced piers, with alternate-block rustication and scroll-topped jamb
pilasters; cartouches on north faces,with arms of Smythe family partly eroded.
Flat coping supports 4 high open scrolls, those on east pier renewed in concrete,
holding acanthus-leaf-and-ball finials.
