House, former cottage hospital, now part surgery. Mid C17. Timber framed and
plastered with gabled peg tile roofs. 2 storeys with attics with 3 small 2
light casement dormers with low gabled heads in front roof slope. Front has 3.
tripartite double hung sashes and one conventional double hung sash all with a
single central vertical glazing bar. Ground floor has 3 similar windows and a
C20 lean-to porch with pegtile roof. At the south end is a projecting steeply
gabled block with bulls eye window and similar tripartite sash windows. In
front of this block, a single storey red brick, flat roofed surgery extension.
At the north end, a 2 storey block with lower roof line has a front lean-to and
C20 picture windows and a garage block beyond. The rear is part black
weatherboarded and incorporates part of the old churchyard wall and a blocked
gateway. Centre of main block is mid C17 house with some exposed framing
internally and butt-purlin roof. Included for group value.
