about 26.5m south of chancel,
Church of St. Ethelbert

GV II

Pedestal tomb; early C19; ashlar stone. Lid with moulded edge,
above a step set back from edge, cavetto moulding rising to square
centre piece with hollow pyramid top. Below a reeded frieze,
taken round corners. Sides, recessed fielded panel with cyma
moulding to frame. Corners elongated quarter-square balusters,
with leaf capitals and upper parts of bases, like a derivation from
gadrooning: leaf decoration to bulbous section of baluster.
Moulded plinth; all on a flat, square stone base formerly carrying
railings. Commemorates William Tingle, died 1820, and Elizabeth,
wife of J. Teague, year of death illegible.
