yard, about 19.5m south of east end
of nave, Church of St. Ethelbert

Unidentified very large headstone; probably about 1800; stone.
About 2.3m high, 120mm thick. Shaped top slightly thicker than
main part; rounded shoulders, followed by slight step to sweep up
to short, central flat. Beaded edge to bottom of top section:
main body beaded on corners and divided into thirds vertically on
both sides with beading. On west face an inset panel with
cambered head and beaded edge has high relief carving of child in
contemporary dress, with leaf scrolls back and front. Carving
good; inscriptions largely weathered off, but text 'Suffer little
children to come unto me.....' still partly legible around top.
Forms part of close group with Wooley and Wood, monuments, (q.v.).
