Farmhouse, now Officers' Mess to Army Apprentices' College. Early C19. Rendered,
Welsh slate low-pitched hipped roof to deep box eaves. Upright square block, with
large blank space above first floor windows. 2½ storeys and part basement, 3-
windowed, with 2 C20 'eyebrow' dormers over 12-pane sashes at first floor, and 12-
pane sashes plus narrow margin bars to ground floor: the two bays flanking the
centre are brought forward slightly, and contain the central 4-panel door in double
pilaster portico with entablature over fanlight. Return wall, right, has similar
'stepped' composition on plan. Interior has contemporary dog-leg stair with stick
balusters, and original panelled doors. An unusual composition, looking more like
a Rectory than a farmhouse.
