House. Early C17, refronted and interior remodelled 1770.
Roughcast timber-frame under machine tile roof. 2 storeys and
dormer attic, in 5 bays. Asymmetrical facade to street.
Central 6-panelled door with panelled reveals, a plain
overlight and an open pediment. 2 sashes right and left, each
with 6/6 glazing bars, bolection-moulded surrounds and hoods.
5 first-floor 3/6 sashes with similar surrounds. Gabled roof
with 3 gabled dormers fitted with 2-light casements. C19 ridge
stack. Rear with a 2-storey brick cross wing, gabled and with
plain tiles; mixed fenestration including two C20 casements, a
tripartite sash and a 10/10 sash. East gable wall of front
range with a 2-storey bow lit through 3 6/6 curved sashes each
floor, c1770. INTERIOR. Fully panelled Adamesque room with
elliptical arched doorway, medallion ovals and heads in
spandrels. C18 mantelpiece. Bedroom with wide coved ceiling
cornice, enriched plaster frieze and ceiling panel mouldings.
Staircase with 3 fluted balusters per tread and scrolled tread
ends.
