Includes: No.1 GEORGE STREET.
Shops with flats over. Late C18. Red Flemish bond brickwork
with gault brick dressings and `L' plan, roof of plain tiles,
hipped to N and gabled to rear (E) with stack. 2 further red
brick rectangular stacks. 3 storeys with plain parapet having
stone coping, painted timber cornice. Elevations to High
Street and George Street are similar and have, on the second
floor, three 12 paned double hung sash windows recessed in the
wall. The majority of sash windows have thick glazing bars. On
the first floors of each public elevation are 3 similar taller
12 paned double hung sash windows with rendered stepped
keystone heads. On the High Street elevation is an old fire
insurance plaque and George Street elevation has old metal
street name. Each ground floor has a C20 shopfront and that to
High Street an entrance door to flat over.
