The Lawns
GV II
House. Early to mid C19. Brick; stone plinth; hipped Welsh
slate roof; 4 brick end stacks with stone bands. Double-depth
plan.
2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window range: margin-glazed sashes
with stone sills, under keyed and grooved stucco lintels.
Recessed central bay has margin-glazed door and fanlight in
round-headed case under keyed and grooved stucco semicircular
arch; flanked by margin-glazed casements; painted storeyband.
Plaque to rear: T.M. 1848.
INTERIOR: dogleg staircase with stick balusters, to 1st floor;
C20 flight to attic; margin-glazed staircase light with
architrave. 1st floor: six 4-panel doors; cornices;
architraves. Ground floor: early C20 fireplace; 6-panel doors
with architraves; cornices; marble fireplace; wood-lined arch;
wall cupboards; tiled wood fireplace. Cellar: stone-lined with
brick arches.
