Shops and dwellings. C18. Painted brick; slate(?) roof.
4 storeys; 3-window range: to left, C20, 2/2 sash under gauged
brick flat arches, to all floors; to right, two C20, 2/1
sashes, with 2/2 and 3/6 sashes over, all in broad cases,
under gauged brick flat arches; scars of former storeybands;
stone coped parapets.
To left, C20 imitation Regency shop front with 2 leaf,
half-glazed doors, and overlight with glazing bars, and to
left, bow window with glazing bars; fascia-board with
tympanum, on moulded pilasters with consoles. To right, double
fronted shop front, with central C20, 3/4 glazed door, and
plain overlight, flanked by bow windows with glazing bars;
fascia-board with tympana and moulded hood.
To rear: stringcourse. Wing to rear: 3 blocked openings to 1st
floor with two C20 lights over; plain tile gable dormer;
render, including stringcourse at 2nd floor level.
INTERIOR: No.3: dogleg staircase with turned balusters. 3rd
floor: reset carved stud to ceiling; 2-panel door; corner
fireplace. 2nd floor: 2-panel door; 6/6 sash and coloured
margin-glazed sash. 1st floor: coved ceiling to front; corner
fireplace to rear. No.2: C19 panelling to landing; early C19
staircase; corner fireplace to rear. 2nd floor: corner
fireplace to rear; panelling to landing. 1st floor: fireplace
to front; coved ceiling. Cellars: medieval, were once linked
to adjoining properties.
